Casting directors are scanning hundreds of submissions—often as small thumbnails, this means your image needs to communicate who you are and what you can play immediately.

That’s what we focus on in every session: creating natural, castable headshots that feel like you and align with the roles you’re going after.

I had contacted John to get acting headshots done. This was my first time doing anything like this, so naturally I was a little nervous. But John was amazing, and his coaching really helped me feel confident and validate my ambitions. I cannot recommend John Armato enough, and I know that he will be the first person I go to next time I need photos done! -Mckenna D.

Most Actors Don't Need Better Photos. They Need Better Direction.

Before we meet in the studio, we'll talk through:

  • The roles you're currently reading for

  • The roles you WANT to be reading for

  • How you want to be seen

  • What might be missing from your portfolio

My job isn't just to take pretty pictures, it’s to be a marketing collaborator and help you create images that work for your career.

What Makes A Great Actor Headshot?

A great actor headshot isn't about dramatic lighting or heavy retouching.

It's about connection.

Casting directors should be able to look at your photo and immediately feel like they're meeting a real person.

The best actor headshots are:

  • Authentic

  • Current
