What is a business headshot?

A strong business headshot is one of the most important investments you can make in your professional image. Whether you're a small business owner, executive, entrepreneur, or team member in the Montgomery County area, your headshot is often the very first impression you make — on LinkedIn, your company website, email signatures, and marketing materials.

I photograph business headshots at my home studio in Clarksburg, MD, just minutes from the I-270 corridor and easily accessible from Rockville, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Bethesda, and Washington, D.C. I also offer on-site sessions for corporate teams across Maryland, Virginia, and D.C.

What is a business headshot?

A business headshot is a professional portrait taken from about the mid-chest up, with the focus on your face. Unlike a casual photo, a proper headshot is crafted with professional lighting, a clean backdrop, and expert posing guidance — so you come across as confident, approachable, and credible.

Most people will find you online before they ever get the chance to meet you. Research shows that first impressions are formed in just seconds. A polished, professional headshot signals that you take your career seriously — and gives people a reason to trust you before a word is spoken.

What to expect from your session

A personalized experience

No two people are alike, and no two sessions are the same. Every business headshot session is tailored to your industry, your personal brand, and the image you want to project. Whether you need something polished and corporate or approachable and relaxed, we'll work together to find what's right for you.

Studio and on-location options

Individual sessions take place at my private studio in Clarksburg, MD. If you have a team that needs headshots, I can come to your office and set up on-site — no need to coordinate travel for multiple employees. I work with corporate clients throughout Montgomery County, Northern Virginia, and the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Expert posing and coaching

Being in front of a camera makes most people uncomfortable — and that's completely normal. I'll guide you through every pose and expression, making sure you feel at ease and look natural. We shoot to a large monitor so you can see your images in real time, make adjustments on the spot, and leave knowing exactly what you're walking away with.

Hair and makeup styling (optional)

I can arrange for a professional stylist to be on-site for your session. This is optional and the stylist's fee is paid directly to her — but many clients find it makes a significant difference in how polished and camera-ready they look and feel.

Tips For Getting The Best Business Headshot

  • Bring two or three outfit options. Have them dry-cleaned or pressed ahead of time so they're wrinkle-free on camera.

  • Solid colors photograph better than patterns or busy prints.

  • Keep hair neat and groomed. Avoid haircuts within a few days of your session — freshly cut hair can look stiff. Men should decide ahead of time whether to go clean-shaven or keep facial hair neatly trimmed.

  • Avoid heavy jewelry or accessories that might distract from your face.

  • Get a good night's sleep before your session. It shows.
