At least those were the qualities we looked for in our agent. You’re going to be asking your clients to hand over private information, and a lot of it. It’s important that your clients trust you right off the bat or this process could take longer that you’d like.
The other important aspect to think of is people clicking on your profile. People are more likely to click on a profile that has a headshot. This means your agency page, facebook, Instagram and business card should have your headshot on it. Of the profiles that have headshots, those that have professional headshots will also see more engagement than those that don’t. With more and more people using LinkedIn to connect with other industry professionals or just to grow a professional network, it’s key to have a killer profile image. According to LinkedIn, profiles with professional headshots get 21 times more engagement and 9 times more connection requests. These could be potential employers, other agents looking to collaborate or, buyers!
You don’t want to choose just any photographer, or your friend at the office who has a nice camera. It’s not the gear that takes a killer headshot or captures great expressions. It’s your expression. Your expression is what is going to get you either passed by, or clicked on. I Coach every client on pose and expression throughout their session. I use the word coach as I see myself as more an expression and pose coach that is also a great photographer. I guide every single client through the session, reviewing images live on screen as we go. This allows me capture the best expressions I can and make small adjustments as we shoot. No waiting till the end of our session to find out you hate them all!
